Dear Members of the Korean Society of Molecular Imaging, I am honored to be a President of the Korean Society of Molecular Imaging (KSMI) from 2022 and wish you good health and great achievement. KSMI has been established in 2002 when molecular imaging began to be established as a new academic field around the world, and took root earlier than any other country. I appreciate the wisdom of the former presidents and members of KSMI who accurately identified and led the new academic trend. Since its establishment, KSMI has been a model of joint research and academic exchange as a multidisciplinary scientific society. We have blossomed convergence science based on the scientific curiosity and understanding of members from diverse disciplines such as life science, medicine, engineering, and natural science, which was mediated by molecular imaging. Now, molecular imaging in Korea has progressed to a level that leads Asia as well as the world. Molecular imaging is no longer a new field of science, but an essential tool in the life science. In more than 20 years of history, new imaging technologies with a state-of-the art to diagnose diseases are appearing in the medical field. Theranostics technology, which combines imaging diagnosis and treatment, is just around the corner of the clinic. I can say that our academic field has become wider and deeper. Based on this, we will make every effort to help more scientists and physicians of different academic fields establish relationships with KSMI and continue their activities here. We will also identify the current status of KSMI and establish a mid- to long-term development plan. We ask for your active interest and participation. I wish you good health and happiness. Thank you. Jung-Joon Min, MD, PhD President of the Korean Society of Molecular Imaging
